As the following passenger comment
illustrates, enthusiasts love these freighter voyages:
In Malta we took an ancient bus to the capital city of Valletta. It was a bit
late to get much sightseeing done but we did get to explore the main parts of the city and
sample lumpaki, a local fish, for supper. Id like to return to spend more leisure
time in Malta. The favorite ports of everyone, crew and passengers alike, were in northern
Italy. Maybe not so much for the ports themselves, but for the tiny villages in rocky
inlets along the coast of the Ligurian Sea. We took the train to see 4 of the 5 villages
of Cinque Terre. Its a must if time permits. To me these picturesque villages were a
visual treat rivaling the more famous Amalfi Coast and the friendly inhabitants help you
enjoy it even more
.
